4 countries. 4 terrains. One European Champion!
The 2026 European Enduro Championship opened its doors in Tamási, Hungary, and the first day left no doubt: this season is going to be a fight.
114 riders took on the special tests under a blazing Hungarian sun. The heat was relentless, the dust was thick, and by the end of the day the trails were completely torn apart — rough, unpredictable, and demanding every ounce of concentration from every rider on the start line. The conditions didn’t separate the good from the rest. They separated the committed from everyone else.
And the crowd was there for all of it. With the special tests sitting close to the paddock, spectators lined every section of the course — watching, shouting, living every split second alongside the riders. Tamási showed up.

THE OVERALL: THREE SECONDS, ONE WINNER
When the dust settled — literally — it was Roland Liszka who stood on top. The Hungarian rider, who took victory at this very event last year, did it again on home soil, crossing the day with a time of 43:33.63. But nobody handed it to him. The gap to Lorenzo Macoritto in second was just three seconds. Three seconds across an entire day of racing.
Davide Soreca completed an impressive Italian presence on the podium in third, with Luca Fischeder and Leo Lavesvre rounding out the top five. The times between the pack were brutally tight — a single mistake, one moment of hesitation in the dust, and the leaderboard would have looked completely different.

THE WOMEN: SELJESETH STEPS UP
In the Women’s category, Malene Seljeseth took the day one victory with a time of 53:39.79 — but Matilda Ahlström made her work for every second of it. The Swedish rider pushed Seljeseth all day, keeping the pressure on through the dust and the heat, finishing just 20 seconds behind at the flag.
It’s a result that means something. Last year, Seljeseth finished the championship in third place. Today, she put herself at the front. One day in, one statement made.
Natália Bučová, Maja Kozłowska and Stephanie Bianchi completed the top five in a category that promises to deliver throughout the season.
Day 2 is tomorrow. The championship is just getting started.
